Visions in Photography had the pleasure of capturing the new Tropicana Pedestrian Bridge and Escalator project for Whiting and Turner Construction. According to Nevada Department of Transportation (NDOT) the Tropicana Pedestrian Bridge and Escalator Replacement Project is a $30 million upgrade of the 22-year-old pedestrian bridges at Tropicana Avenue (State Route 593) and Las Vegas Boulevard.
NDOT says that the project will replace the existing 16 escalators (four at each corner) with state-of-the art equipment and enhance the existing pedestrian bridge finishes at the intersection of Tropicana Avenue and Las Vegas Boulevard. The project will also include new low-energy glass and air-conditioning units installed at each of the eight elevators at this location, the removal and replacement of existing bridge guardrail systems, removal and replacement of bridge and deck stair wearing surfaces, and construction of new maintenance rooms including the upgrade of existing electrical room and elevator machine room equipment and finishes.
